Bendy Circle Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Bendy Circle, and I'm still trying to figure out what I think about it. I mean, it's not like it's a bad game or anything, it's just that it's so... weird. You play as this little character who has to navigate through these increasingly difficult levels, collecting coins and avoiding obstacles along the way. Sounds simple enough, right? But here's the thing: the whole game takes place in this weird, circular world where gravity doesn't seem to work the same way as it does in real life.
At first, it's kind of disorienting, to be honest. You'll be running along, feeling like you're getting the hang of things, and then suddenly the ground will just drop out from under you and you'll be stuck to the ceiling or something. It's pretty wild, and it takes some getting used to. But once you start to get the hang of it, it's actually pretty fun. The levels are all really cleverly designed, with lots of hidden secrets and alternative paths to discover. And the graphics are really nice, too - the whole game has this cool, hand-drawn feel to it that's really charming.
One thing that I didn't love, though, is the difficulty curve. It starts off pretty easy, but then suddenly it gets really hard, really fast. I mean, I'm not afraid of a challenge or anything, but some of the later levels are just ridiculous. You'll be trying to navigate through this tiny little tunnel, avoiding all these obstacles and enemies, and it's just so frustrating. And the checkpoints are pretty sparse, too, so if you die, you'll often have to replay a lot of the level to get back to where you were. It's not the end of the world or anything, but it did get pretty annoying at times.
Despite the frustrating difficulty, though, I still found myself having a lot of fun with Bendy Circle. The game has a really great sense of momentum, and once you get going, it's hard to stop. And the levels are all so different and interesting, with lots of cool ideas and mechanics to discover. Plus, the game is really pretty, like I said, and the soundtrack is great, too. It's just this really catchy, upbeat music that fits the game's quirky tone perfectly.
I think my main problem with Bendy Circle, though, is that it feels a bit short. I mean, I beat the game in like 5 hours, and that was with taking my time and exploring all the levels. I know some people might be okay with that, but for me, it felt a bit too brief. I was just starting to get really into the game, and then suddenly it was over. And there's not a ton of replay value, either - once you've beaten the game, there's not a lot of reason to go back and play it again. Still, though, I would definitely recommend Bendy Circle to anyone who's looking for a fun, challenging platformer. It's not perfect, but it's definitely worth checking out.
Overall, I'm glad I played Bendy Circle. It's a really unique and interesting game, and I appreciate the developers for trying something new and different. Even with its flaws, it's still a lot of fun, and I would definitely play a sequel or something. I just hope that next time, they can make the game a bit longer and more replayable. But for now, I'm just happy to have experienced this weird, wonderful game, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the developers come up with next.
