I just got done playing Space Aim Kids with my little cousins and I've got to say, it's a pretty cool game. At first, I was a bit skeptical, I mean, the title doesn't exactly scream "deep, complex gameplay" but it's actually a lot of fun. The idea is pretty simple - you're a spaceship flying through a asteroid field and you've got to shoot the bad guys while avoiding getting hit yourself. It's not exactly a new concept, but it's one that works, and the kids loved it.

The graphics are pretty basic, but they get the job done. The colors are bright and the ships and asteroids are easy to see, even on a smaller screen. The sound effects are also pretty good, with some nice laser blast sounds and explosions. The music is a bit cheesy, but it's catchy and the kids seemed to enjoy it. One thing that did bug me a bit was the lack of variety in the levels - after a while, it starts to feel like you're just playing the same level over and over again.

The controls are also pretty straightforward - you use the arrow keys to move your ship and the space bar to shoot. It's easy to pick up, even for the kids, and the game does a good job of introducing new concepts gradually. For example, at first you're just shooting basic asteroids, but later on you've got to deal with enemy ships and even bosses. The game also keeps track of your score and has a few different difficulty levels, which is a nice touch.

One thing that I did appreciate about Space Aim Kids is how well it's designed for, well, kids. The game is pretty forgiving, so even if you mess up, you're not going to get frustrated and quit. The game also has a few different power-ups and bonuses that you can collect, which adds a bit of excitement to the game. The kids loved collecting the power-ups and using them to blast through the levels. My only real complaint is that the game is a bit too easy - I was able to breeze through the first few levels without even trying, and the kids didn't have too much trouble either.

As I played the game with my cousins, I could see that they were having a blast. They were all cheering each other on and trying to beat each other's high scores. It was actually pretty cool to see them so engaged and excited about a game. And even though it's not the most complex game in the world, it's still a lot of fun to play. I found myself getting caught up in the action and competing with the kids to see who could get the highest score.

Overall, I'd say that Space Aim Kids is a solid choice for kids who are just starting to get into gaming. It's easy to pick up, fun to play, and has a pretty gentle learning curve. And even though it's not going to win any awards for originality or complexity, it's still a great way to spend an afternoon with the kids. Just don't expect too much in the way of depth or challenge - this is a game that's all about having fun and blasting some asteroids.
