Pentablocks Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Pentablocks and I'm still trying to process my thoughts on it. I mean, on the surface it seems like a pretty simple game - you're given a set of blocks with different shapes and you have to fit them together to create a solid shape. But trust me, it's way harder than it sounds. I found myself getting really frustrated at times, but at the same time, I couldn't stop playing. There's something about the satisfaction of finally figuring out how to fit all the blocks together that's really addictive.
One thing that I really like about Pentablocks is the graphics. They're not super fancy or anything, but they're clean and simple, and they get the job done. The blocks are all different colors and shapes, and they're easy to distinguish from each other, which makes it easier to figure out how to fit them together. The game also has a really nice, chill soundtrack that helps to keep you relaxed, even when you're getting frustrated with the puzzles. Overall, the presentation is top-notch, and it really adds to the overall experience of the game.
Now, I know some people might find Pentablocks to be a bit too easy, especially in the early levels. I mean, the first few puzzles are pretty straightforward, and you can get through them in just a few minutes. But as you progress through the game, the puzzles get way harder, and you'll really have to think carefully about how to fit all the blocks together. I found myself having to retry some of the puzzles multiple times before I finally figured them out, but it was always satisfying when I did. And even though the game can be tough at times, it never feels unfair - you always feel like you have a chance to solve the puzzle if you just think about it carefully enough.
One thing that I didn't like about Pentablocks is the lack of a timer or any kind of leaderboard. I mean, I know some people might not care about competing with others, but for me, it's a big part of the fun. I like to try to beat my own scores and compare myself to other players, and Pentablocks doesn't really offer that. It's not a huge deal, but it's something that I think would really add to the game. On the other hand, the game does have a really nice "relax" mode, where you can just play without any pressure or stress. This is actually how I ended up playing most of the game - I just liked the feeling of chillin' and solving puzzles without any hassle.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Pentablocks to anyone who likes puzzle games. It's a really well-designed game that's both challenging and relaxing at the same time. The graphics and soundtrack are great, and the puzzles are really engaging. Even though it's not perfect - I mean, the lack of a timer or leaderboard is a bit of a bummer - it's still a really fun game that's worth checking out. And at the price point it's at, I think it's a total steal. I've already spent way more time playing it than I expected to, and I'm sure I'll be back for more.
As I'm writing this review, I'm actually thinking about going back to play some more Pentablocks. That's how much I enjoyed it - even after playing it for hours, I'm still eager to go back and solve more puzzles. If you're looking for a fun, relaxing game that's also challenging and engaging, then Pentablocks is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared to get hooked - once you start playing, it's hard to stop.
