Gorilla Monster Fight Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Gorilla Monster Fight and I'm still trying to process my thoughts on this game. I mean, the title itself is pretty attention-grabbing - who wouldn't want to play a game about fighting monsters as a gorilla? But does the gameplay live up to the hype? For the most part, I'd say yes. The combat mechanics are solid, with a variety of different attacks and combos that you can pull off with some practice. It's definitely satisfying to smash through hordes of enemies as a giant, enraged gorilla.
One thing that really stood out to me was the level design. Each stage is set in a different city, and the developers have done a great job of creating a sense of destruction and chaos. You'll be smashing through skyscrapers, flipping cars, and sending pedestrians running for cover. It's all very over-the-top and fun, and it's clear that the devs were going for a tongue-in-cheek, B-movie style vibe. The graphics aren't particularly impressive, but they get the job done - the game runs smoothly and the animations are decent.
Where the game starts to fall apart is with the repetition. You'll be fighting the same few enemy types over and over, and the levels start to feel pretty samey after a while. There are some boss battles sprinkled in to break up the monotony, but even those start to feel like more of the same after a while. I also found the upgrade system to be a bit lacking - you can spend points on various upgrades for your gorilla, but none of them feel particularly game-changing. It's all pretty standard stuff, and I didn't feel like I was really progressing or getting stronger as the game went on.
Despite the repetition, I still found myself having a lot of fun with Gorilla Monster Fight. There's just something so cathartic about smashing through a city as a giant gorilla, and the game's sense of humor and style really adds to the experience. The soundtrack is also worth mentioning - it's a cheesy, pulse-pounding mix of rock and electronic tracks that perfectly complements the on-screen action. If you're looking for a game that's all about mindless, over-the-top action, then Gorilla Monster Fight is definitely worth checking out.
That being said, I'm not sure how much replay value the game has. Once you've completed the campaign, there's not a whole lot to do - you can replay levels to try and get higher scores, but that's about it. The game also feels pretty short, with most players likely completing it in under 5 hours. For the price, though, I think it's a fair deal. If you're a fan of action games or just looking for something fun and lighthearted, then Gorilla Monster Fight is definitely worth a look.
Overall, I'd say that Gorilla Monster Fight is a fun, if flawed, game. It's not going to win any awards for originality or depth, but it's a great way to pass the time and have some mindless fun. With a bit more variety and depth, this could have been a truly great game - as it stands, it's just a solid, enjoyable experience that's worth checking out if you're in the mood for something silly and action-packed.
